This is my little fairy doll, her name is Pansy. She is made from scraps of pretty cotton fabric and felt. Her wings are made from vilene and she has some old fashioned beads on her belt.
On the shelf next to her are these adorable little snails. The pattern was sent to me by my dear friend Iris. Check out her blog and see her designs.
I purchased this Sarah Lawrence book after a fellow crafter brought it to our class a couple of weeks ago. I thought that the brooches were so much fun and I have a large selection of beads. I bought the faces direct from Sarah's website, www.craftynotions.com. She also has an article in the June/July edition of Stitch Magazine that is published by the Embroiderers Guild.
I love these ribbon girls and will have a go at them next, but below is the one I made using beads.
Lastly, having made Isabel a bag a while ago, I had this fabric and decided to make one for myself. It isn't quite finished yet but I wam pleased with it so far.
Finally, on the subject of bags. You may have caught a glimpse of this in the picture above.. yes it is the next design in the Tesco/Kidston range..I know, fab isn't it and who knew that there were more to come?! I couldn't believe my eyes when I went into my local store and saw it. And, guess what..there are at least another 2 coming in October.!!!!!!!!!! Yippeeeee!
How can you choose between them, they are all so bloomin gorgeous!!
Furthermore, LK Bennett have brought out this little stunner, which I absolutely love and it is free with this months Instyle Magazine..Yep it's free and fab and just the right size for my knitting. I am in bag heaven at the moment..who else shares my passion?
I will end on this happy note and advise you to go to Tesco now, this minute, 24 hour shopping darlings, because numbers of each design are limited and when they are gone, they are gone, so don't tell yourself that you will get it next week, because the chances are I will have bought them all up! Hi, Devina,
I've just found you through Marja's blog. You're at the opposite end of the country from me and make interesting reading: village life and the weather etc.
Love the craft work, I like your idea of a craft group, I would definitly join if I lived nearer. Sounds like my sort of thing. But I can't so I'll just have to keep on popping in here to see what you're up to instead.

Hi there Dev! Your Projects are absolutely gorgeous!!! Can't decide which one I find more precious; little Pansy or one of the two fabulous snails!
Take care, dear friend! And keep up the good crafting spirit :-)
Thanks Dev, I think it's called Melrose, it was reduced to £8 a roll in the LA sale and I only used 1.5 rolls so all in all a very chap makeover and I didn't even need to buy new furniture, I just painted the old stuff! I don't think I'll be able to wall paper anywhere else - we don't have many plastered walls and the ones that are artexed (yuk!).
Thank you for visiting my blog!
The stripy tote is my favorite, so fresh.
The garden photos in your earlier post are really inspiring, one can only dream of such gardens in Finland.
Hi Devina,
how wonderful to find you again on your blog.....apart from lovely Pansy and of course your marvellous..great...cute...snails...
...*lol*...I love the bags in the Tesco/Kidston range....unfortunately we haven`t got Tesco....I would like to go to Tesco "now, this minute".
But that would be a "very far away shopping", wouldn`t it??
Best wishes,
Iris
I'm really not that much of an expert at painting, I get very frustrated and bored, and find it difficult to paint anything bigger than the size of a chair. Fortunately I really like old mellow antique wood otherwise I'd be done for! ;-) I would recommend that you use either an oil based or water based eggshell with the appropriate undercoat (oil for oil based, water for water based). I much prefer water-based paints because you get a nice chalky texture and oil-based white paints go yellowy after a while. The real expert is Lea at allthingsshabbychic.blogspot.com. She has so much more patience than I do! Good luck! :-)
Miss ya! Have a lovely weekend!
Hi! Good to hear from you (not that you owe me any explanations)
;-)
My latest post, the one in Finnish only and displaying all those zinc items, is about SELLING that stuff! People get to bid on them as on eBay. Decided to limit this to Finland only as I have no problems with shipping internationally but the payment part would be a huge big hassle.
I signed up for Heidi Ann's Halloween swap a couple of weeks ago, inspired by YOU! I wonder if she'll pair the two of us up, as the sole (?) Europeans?
I keep on replying to this very same post of yours :-)
THANKS SO MUCH, dear Dev, appreciate your kind words!
I also know what you are talking about. The entire vacation my 5-year-old went on and on about why can't we go to Rhodes like her best friend. Try explaining to a wee one that we can't afford it now that mummy's not working...
Take care!
