Crochet creations

I am quite excited about my new crochet creations. I was having a bit of a play with all the pretty yarns in my stash and wondering what I could do with the small amounts left over from bigger projects. So here for your delectation....

I love them to bits and have sold, yes sold 2 already!! How neat is that! Two friends actually liked them so much they were prepared to dip into their purses and give me some cash. You can't get better than that can you! After my disasterous day at the village coffee morning my confidence took a bit of a knock to be honest...and now, well... is there a market out there for these do you think? I have been toying with the idea for a while now. I have lots of ideas.....mmmm...watch this space!

These ones are made from the lovely yarn that I received from my swap partner Alessandra, aren't they pretty, I love the colours?

I also received a copy of her gorgeous wreath chart. It is so well written that I can actually understand the instuctions which is something that I usually find completely baffling as those who have been following my blog for a while will know by now. The only daunting thing about the project is at the beginning when she starts by saying "make 504 chains". I kid you not!! There is no chocolate shot as it was all devoured before you could say "make 504 chains"! Well maybe not that quick, but you get my drift. Yum, yum....

If you fancy a bit of a swap yourselves, then pop over to CT who is hosting a yarn and xmas decoration swap. You need to sign up by August 5th I think. Sorry to mention the "C" word but there are only 21 weeks to go. It doesn't hurt if you close your eyes and say it very quickly. Honest!

I have been tagged by Melanie to do this bit of fun and pass it on to 5 others.. So here's what you need to do.

1. Collect the book that you have most handy
2. Turn to page 161
3. Find the 5th complete sentence
4. Cite the sentence on your blog
5. Pass it on to five other blogger friends

In my case the book just happens to be Lark Rise to Candleford by Flora Thompson.

Laura, conscious that she was no principal in the affair, and only invited to partake out of courtesy, declined wistfully but firmly; Martha said she would like a little more if "mum" pleased, and the little brother merely pushed his plate forward.

I’m going to pass this onto:-

Nina

Denise

Sian

Alessandra

yes, I believe there is a market for your creations, the things you mak are adorable!
I'm glad you like the things I sent. The chocolate in the pink paper (Almond Rocca) is made here in Tacoma, the city I live in.
I'll post the sentence of the book in my next post. :o)
Glad to see you posting, I was a little worried about you and almost sent you a message to see if you were okay!

Have a great week!

Those are beautiful! I can think of several things that I would do with them. I'd put them on a hat like a pin or a jacket. I'd put them on a bag or several around the neck of a sweater. No wonder they snatched them up!

They are very pretty, easy to make yet effective, aren't they? I think there are various people selling things like this, brooches and corages, via websites and blogs as I have seen them elsewhere. A good eye for colour is essential isn't it?

Love your crochet.
How are you enjoying Lark Rise? I've read that book so many times I know it off by heart, that passage is where Laura goes with her friend, to the big house, to see if her friend can go into service, but it does not turn out quite right.
If you love Flora Thompson, read, Still Glides The Stream next by her, it is a work of fiction, but such a fantastic story, try to get the illustrated version, it is a beautiful book. xxxxx

Dear Dev
Thank you for the tag! I shall be reaching for a book as soon as possible and sending the tag along the blog-lines....!
I love the colours of your flowers, and am as ever, in awe of the crochet work.
I hope you have some sunshine in your part of the world - nonstop rain here!

The word verification is 'cryners' - this rain makes me feel like a 'cryner'!

I am new to blogging and have come across yours today. I love your little flowers and am sure they would sell but even more I love some of the other things I see on your blog which not so many other people are also making. Why not try some of those instead/as well?

I would think that any squares made up in lovely colours perhaps using the stitch you show would make a similar afghan to the one whose instructions are so difficult to understand. It would be individual then too! I will visit again soon.

I love anything crochet and can't believe how neat you're squares are, you seem to get the colours just right as well. I think your flowers are lovely and would make a pretty neclace, but the squares are even better, they would make lovely bags.
